As reported yesterday in the NYT (and many other sources), we are inching closer and closer to an economic stimulus package that will include rebate checks to over 117 million tax paying homes. Chances are, if you payed taxes last year, you have a check coming. If you didn't pay taxes (like my lazy, grad student self) you too will receive a check. The "rebates" will range between $300 and $1200 and perhaps even more if you have children.

So the question is...what will you spend your check on?

With $600 in hand, here are some things that I will highly consider:

• Driving to Canada and spending it on crepes and Labatt just so that I can laugh at the irony of stimulating someone else's economy with the US government's money.
